Elissa Haden Guest
Elissa Haden Guest is the author of numerous children’s books, most recently, Bella’s Rules, illustrated by Abigail Halpin. Books in her ten-book series, Iris and Walter, illustrated by Christine Davenier have been named Junior Library Guild Selections, an ALA Notable Book, and a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, and received a PEN Center USA West Literary Award. She’s written YA fiction and middle grade non-fiction.
Elissa holds an MFA in Children’s Literature from Hollins University and has taught writing at Pixar Animation Studios and lectured at DreamWorks. She teaches workshops in Writing for Children & Young Adults at Stanford Continuing Studies and classes on writing picture books at the Academy of Art University. Elissa loves visiting schools and inspiring young readers through her presentations and writing workshops.
